Access to Equipment

Equipment costs can be a major barrier when playing lacrosse. There are a variety of equipment options for all positions. One example comes from our pivotal tool, our Lacrosse sticks. Sticks vary greatly in cost; standardized lacrosse sticks are affordable at around $40. Those players with more experience, often opt to customize their sticks. These players will buy the shaft and head separately, to fit their needs, but can be priced at upwards of $100, $200, and even $300. Again, that’s just the stick and does not include the price of other required pieces of equipment such as helmets, shoulder and elbow guards, and uniforms.
With 619 Access, our goal is to relieve these hefty play pricetags, in any way we can, in order to give more kids the opportunity to play. We have equipment loaner programs, stick giveaways, and significant discounts on events, pro lacrosse games, and other merchandise.

Access to Affordable Training

Another factor that plays a critical role in the development of young Lacrosse athletes is proper training. Development of lacrosse skills typically happens through hard work and practice, but athletes will be elevated through training at camps and clinics. These events usually come with a high price tag creating socioeconomic disparities within the sport. 619 Access strives to provide all youth, regardless of economic status with the opportunity to learn and train with pros and expert coaches, while maintaining costs as low as possible. This means 619 Access is ready to help any young athlete ready to learn and participate in lacrosse. We have developed a scholarship program to help those truly in need and have also created discounts for our military families. We mean it when we say we are here for all kids.

Access to Community Growth & Leadership Training

Although our main focus is getting our youth properly trained and taught, 619 Lacrosse recognizes that a critical component to ensure the growth of lacrosse in our communities is the development of our coaches and their programs. We are committed to providing training to coaches and staff at all program levels, offer peer-to-peer mentorship, and help guide all to resources that will ensure all programs have access to becoming successful. If our network of programs isn’t strong then our young athletes won’t have programs to put their skills into actual play. Overall, 619 Lacrosse’s vision is to bring lacrosse to kids in all communities and to grow the sport properly and adequately to provide future college scholarship opportunities and more.
